Industrial I/O Cable Adapter

../../../_images/a0_ind_io_overview.png

Overview

The Industrial I/O Cable Adapter is a compact module converting LVTTL (3.3 V) logic level IOs into standard industrial isolated 24 V I/Os. It converts 4 GPIOs to two digital inputs and outputs. The main purpose of the adapter is to enable connection of 24 V I/O industrial devices to SOMANET servo drives.

Attention

The numbers indicated in the block diagram don’t necessarily need to coincide with the Digital I/O ports of the drive. Especially when SOMANET Circulo is used, it is important to consider that port 4 is Digital Output only!

Note

No mating part required. This push-IN terminal works with solid and flexible cables as well as ferrules.

Note

The PCB can be shrinked to a shrink tube with a diameter of 20 mm.

Strain relief

The board will be delivered with a strain relief. A cable tie can be used as a strain reliever:

../../../_images/a0_ind_io_strain.png

On the right side of the image, the cable tie is symbolized in red and the cables in black. The Synapticon Logo can be connected to PE, e.g. the shield of a cable. There is the possibility to place a CAP and a resistor between PE and GND. In Standard version this is not placed.

If not needed, the strain reliever part can be broken off, then the module is shorter.

Soldered cables

Cables can also directly be soldered to the PCB. If this option is needed, please contact sales@synapticon.com

Attaching the adapter

Due to its small size, the adapter isn’t equipped with a specific hole for screwing it to a structure. If it has been fitted into a shrink tube, it can be treated like a cable. It’s also possible to attach it using a zip tie.
